Much of my addiction – or should I say hesitation-based fallback – to escapism is rooted in perfectionism which in turn is rooted in toxic shame and a shame-based identity.
Being close to others, helping them and profoundly trying to understand them before you judge them is the perfect way to overcome that toxic shame, because you see the countless ways in which your fellow humans all struggle in their very own way and you can then fully appreciate the fact that you yourself aren’t perfect either and never will be.
Gaining profound and full insight into our own flawed humanity in that way is the perfect foundation for a calm and mindful everyday life. No externalization of sources for love and understanding need then to occur for us to experience peace and tranquility.
Out of this profound calm then can grow true deliberate connection and resonance with other people and the world in general. This then becomes love multiplying itself. Every moment then becomes lived trancendence.
